Outdoor days out while it's cool

The weather cools in December, so outdoor days work again. These seasonal parks are open right through the break (checked October 2026).

Events over the break

Questions parents ask

When is the winter break for Dubai schools in 2026?

The UAE Ministry of Education calendar puts the 2026-27 winter break from Monday 14 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, with school starting again on Monday 4 January. KHDA lists the same dates for all of Dubai’s private schools, including those whose school year starts in April.

All the 2026-27 term dates and breaks

Can I book a winter camp yet?

Some, yes: 28 camps have published their winter 2026 dates so far, listed above. Most others haven’t announced yet.

Do winter camps run over Christmas and New Year?

It depends on the camp. The break has three weekday weeks (14 to 18 December, 21 to 25 December and 28 December to 1 January), and 1 January is the New Year holiday in the Ministry of Education calendar. Check each camp’s dates before you book.

How much do winter camps cost in Dubai?

Each camp sets its own prices, and most haven’t published winter prices yet. As a guide, the October half-term camps on Waha that published prices had day prices from AED 150 to AED 375 (38 camps) and week prices from AED 545 to AED 1,600 (46 camps), checked in October 2026. Winter prices can differ, so confirm with the camp.

See the half-term camps and their prices

Do all Dubai schools break on the same dates?

For winter, yes: KHDA’s calendar gives every private school in Dubai a winter break starting on 14 December 2026, with classes back on 4 January 2027. The October mid-term break is the one that can differ, because private schools that don’t follow the Ministry curriculum can be allowed to split it between October and February.

What else is there to do with kids in Dubai over the winter break?

The cooler weather suits outdoor days: Global Village (Season 31, to May 2027), Dubai Miracle Garden (Season 15, to 31 May 2027) and Dubai Safari Park (Season 8, from 12 October) are all open through the break, checked October 2026. Public beaches and most parks are free, as are Dubai Public Libraries’ storytime and craft sessions. The Dubai Shopping Festival runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027.
