How Waha checks listings
Updated 7 October 2026
Where our listings come from, what the date on each one means, and how results are ordered. Here is how it works.
How listings get on Waha
We find listings from public sources: Google listings, and providers' own websites and social pages. Providers can also list themselves.
Before a listing goes live, the Waha team checks that it is relevant: a kids' activity in Dubai. Its page is then written from the provider's own published information.
Listings that close or stop being relevant are taken down. Reports from parents and providers are checked too.
Where the facts come from
- Providers' own websites and social pages (Instagram, Facebook).
- Their Google listings: address, map pin and opening hours. The Google rating and review count are shown as Google's.
- For the football and basketball club rankings: published league results.
Each listing page lists what it is based on. Prices, ages and times can change, so please confirm with the provider before you book.
What "Checked" means
Near the top of a listing page you will see a line such as "Details checked October 2026" ("Checked Oct 2026" on phones).
It is the month we last read the provider's own sources and updated the details on that page. It is not an inspection or a visit, and it is not an endorsement.
How listings are ordered
Browse and activity pages use the "Best match" order unless you pick another sort. This is the actual rule.
If you type search words, the listings that match your words most closely come first.
Otherwise, each listing gets a score made up of:
- Distance, 40%: from your location if you share it, otherwise from central Dubai or the area you picked.
- How focused its classes are on children, 25%.
- Rating, 15%: Waha reviews if there are any, otherwise the Google rating. For listings with only a few reviews, the rating is pulled towards 4.3, so a handful of perfect scores does not jump the queue.
- Number of reviews, 10%.
- Availability, 10%.
Then two small lifts:
- Listings whose card shows researched ages and a price get a little extra, so you can judge them at a glance.
- In the unfiltered view, sports, STEM, arts, music, dance and drama get a small lift.
You can also sort by distance, by price (low to high, or high to low) or by rating.
No one pays for position
There are no paid placements, sponsored slots or ads in the results. Providers cannot buy a higher rank.
Report a change or claim a listing
The For providers page has a form: search for the listing, pick it, then choose what you need.
- Claim, correct or remove: for providers who want to claim their page, fix details or ask for it to be removed.
- Report a problem: for anyone who spots a wrong price, wrong times or a place that has closed.
The form goes to the Waha team, who check it and update the page. For anything else, email [email protected].
