About The Designers Studio

The Designers Studio is an interior design school in The Courtyard, the arts and design hub in Al Quoz 1, with a 2,500 square foot studio. Most of what it teaches is for adults, but in the school holidays it runs a Kids and Teens Camp. The summer 2026 camp ran for six weeks, from 20 July to 28 August, Monday to Friday, with a morning session from 9AM to 12 noon and an afternoon session from 1PM to 4PM. The camp calls itself a multi-arts camp: over the week children do garment and shoe painting, sculpting and pottery, resin art pouring, creative art techniques, and crafts and model making. The age groups are listed as 7-14+, and children who are 6 or 15 can ask to join. You can book a single half day or day, or a whole week, and sibling discounts are available. The studio also hosts kids' birthday parties. The camp is sold out for now and the next dates are not yet published.

The activity

Holiday Camps, explained

A holiday art camp is a week of hands-on making during the school break, run in short daily blocks rather than a term-long course. Children rotate through different techniques across the week, so they try things they may never do at school: painting a T-shirt or trainers, shaping clay, pouring resin, building models and sketching comics. Each session usually ends with something to take home. Camps like this build fine motor skills, patience and the confidence to experiment and make mistakes, and they are a good way to find out which kind of art a child enjoys before signing up for anything longer. Most art camps take primary-age children upwards, with some sessions suited to young teens.

Who it's for

Children and young teens. The camp's age groups are listed as 7-14+, and the studio asks parents of children who are 6 or 15 to get in touch if they would like to attend. The course is marked for beginners, so no art experience is needed.

What to expect

Your child joins for a morning (9AM to 12 noon) or an afternoon (1PM to 4PM), or both, Monday to Friday, at the studio in The Courtyard. Activities are spread across the week, and the studio does not publish which activity falls on which day. All craft materials are provided. Bring an old T-shirt or a pair of white shoes to paint; if you don't have one, a canvas is given instead. The camp page does not mention a trial session, so ask the studio.
