LetsWake: wakesurfing and wakeboarding from Marasi Bay Marina
About LetsWake
LetsWake is a wakesurfing and wakeboarding operator in Dubai that takes riders out on a 2024 Centurion Ri230 wake boat from D-Marin, Marasi Bay Marina in Business Bay. You book the boat by time, from 30 minutes up to three hours, with up to 6 guests on board, so it suits a family or a small group of friends riding in turns. There are two ways to ride. A standard session comes with the boat's pilot, who shows beginners how to get up on the board and helps them on the water. A coached session, for people who already ride, adds a coach for new tricks and technique. Boards, life jackets and helmets are provided, and the marina has showers and changing rooms. Children are accepted from 6 years old with parental consent. This is private boat time rather than a children's class, so it works best for families who want to try the sport together. The team speaks English and Russian.
The activity
Wakeboarding, explained
Wakeboarding and wakesurfing are ridden behind a specially built boat. In wakeboarding the rider's feet are strapped to a board and they hold a tow rope; in wakesurfing the rider starts on the rope, then drops it and surfs the boat's wave on a smaller, strapless board. Beginners learn to get up from sitting in the water, find their balance and steer across the wake. It builds leg and core strength, balance and confidence in open water. Riders always wear a life jacket. Minimum ages vary by operator; at LetsWake children are accepted from 6 years old with parental consent.
Who it's for
Beginners and experienced riders. Children are accepted from 6 years old; parental consent is required for anyone under 18. Swimming is recommended but not required, and everyone wears a life jacket. Up to 6 guests on the boat. There is no separate children's programme; ask the provider about coaching a young child.
What to expect
Arrive at least 15 minutes early at D-Marin, Marasi Bay Marina for boarding and a short safety briefing on water rules. Everyone wears a life jacket, and boards, helmets, towels and water are provided; bring a swimsuit, sunscreen and sunglasses. On a standard session the boat's pilot shows first-timers how to get up on the board and helps them on the water; the provider says beginners get up on their very first session. A late arrival shortens the session at the same price. A parent or guardian must give consent for under-18s. There is no published free trial; ask the provider about packages.
