How much does a session cost?

Wakesurfing or wakeboarding costs AED 300 for 30 minutes, AED 550 for 60 minutes or AED 800 for 90 minutes Monday to Thursday, and AED 350, AED 700 or AED 1,000 Friday to Sunday. WavemastersDXB runs coached wakesurfing and wakeboarding sessions from its own boat, an NXT22 MasterCraft, with sessions leaving from Dubai Marina and Dubai Harbour. It is not a kids' club with weekly classes: it is a boat-based session that families, groups of friends and individual riders book by the half hour, and riders from 10 to 60 years old are welcome. Every session comes with an instructor, all boards and equipment, towels, water and sunscreen, so a first-timer needs to bring very little. The boat takes up to five people, one rider in the water at a time, so a parent and older children can share a session and take turns. There is also a VIP option with a videographer, balloons and a fruit platter, and an early-morning Surf Club group session. Owner Zay Brown relaunched the business in October 2024, and the team says most first-timers stand up in their first session. Bookings are made on WhatsApp.

The activity

Wakeboarding, explained

Wakeboarding and wakesurfing both happen behind a specially built boat. In wakeboarding, the rider's feet are strapped to a short board and they hold a rope handle while the boat pulls them along; over time they learn to cut across the wake, jump and try tricks. Wakesurfing uses a small surfboard with no straps: the rider starts on the rope, then lets go and surfs the wave the boat makes, a few metres behind it. Both build balance, leg and core strength and confidence in open water. Riders always wear a buoyancy vest. Starting ages vary by operator, and this one takes riders from 10 years old.

Who it's for

Riders aged 10 to 60, from complete beginners to experienced riders; no experience or particular fitness needed. Children under 10 cannot ride. There is no separate kids' programme: children ride in the same coached boat sessions as adults.
