About CrazyWake

CrazyWake is a wakeboarding and wakesurfing club at Dubai Harbour Marina. It runs private sessions behind two Nautique wake boats, the S21 and the G23, for up to 6 people per group, so a parent and child can share the boat. Its Family Time page says the coaches teach kids from the age of 6 as well as adults. Most of its customers are beginners, and the club says most people stand up and ride in their first session. Boards, wetsuits, life vests and ropes are included, and an assistant instructor joins when one is free; a dedicated coach costs extra. Sessions are priced by length, from AED 350 for 30 minutes on a weekday, with higher weekend rates and multi-hour packages. Under-18s need a parent or guardian with them for the whole booking, and every rider should be a reasonably confident swimmer. You book online or on WhatsApp and meet the crew at Marina Security Gate BC.

The activity

Wakeboarding, explained

Wakeboarding and wakesurfing both happen behind a boat. In wakeboarding, the rider's feet are strapped into bindings on a short board and they hold the rope the whole time, which lets them carve across the wake and, later, jump and try tricks. In wakesurfing, the board is longer and surf-style: once the rider is up, they let go of the rope and ride the wave the boat makes. For a child, the first goal is simply getting up out of the water and staying balanced while a coach talks them through it. It builds balance, leg strength and confidence in open water. Riders wear a life vest, and CrazyWake takes children from about age 6.

Who it's for

Beginners to advanced riders, children and adults. The club says children should be around 6 years old, comfortable in the water and confident enough to follow instructions, and that the right age varies by child, so confirm with the instructors when you book. Its terms say under-18s can take part only with a parent or legal guardian present for the whole booking (on board when the activity requires it), and that every participant should be a reasonably proficient swimmer who is comfortable in open water. Sessions are private for up to 6 people, so it suits a family or a small group of friends.

What to expect

You meet the crew at Marina Security Gate BC, Dubai Harbour; the club sends the exact pin on WhatsApp once your slot is confirmed. Every booking includes the boat, captain, equipment and a safety briefing. The club supplies wetsuits, life vests, boards and ropes, so bring swimwear, a towel and sunscreen. An assistant instructor joins when available at no extra cost, but the club has one on staff, so it can't be guaranteed; a dedicated professional coach is from AED 350 an hour. Showers and changing rooms are at the Dubai Harbour Building if you tell the club in advance. No trial class is listed: the shortest session is 30 minutes.
