Star Music Studio DMCC
About Star Music Studio DMCC
Star Music Studio is a music school in Jumeirah Lake Towers offering individual lessons on classical, acoustic, electric and bass guitar, drums, piano and voice, plus most woodwind, brass and string instruments. Teachers follow the Trinity College London curriculum or build a personalised plan around a student's own goals, so it can suit a child who wants to sit music grades as well as one who simply wants to enjoy learning a favourite song. The studio says it takes students of any age and music background, from beginners to more experienced players. It also has an on-site professional recording studio, where students can record their music and hear their progress. It's rated 4.8 on Google from 45 reviews.
The activity
Music Lessons, explained
Music lessons pair a child with a teacher for regular one-to-one sessions on an instrument of their choice - guitar, piano, drums, voice, or a woodwind, brass or string instrument. Kids learn to read music or play by ear, build finger technique, rhythm and listening skills, and work towards pieces they enjoy or graded exam pieces, depending on their goals. Between lessons there is practice at home, and steady practice is what moves a child forward. Many schools take complete beginners, and because lessons are individual the pace can be set for a young child or an older starter, with difficulty stepping up as the child progresses.
Who it's for
The studio says it caters to "students of any age and music background", from beginners picking up a new skill to more experienced musicians. No minimum age is published, and lessons are one-to-one, so ask the provider what age they start children at.
What to expect
Lessons are individual rather than group classes, taught either to the Trinity College London syllabus for students working towards exams, or to a personalised curriculum built around the student's own goals. The studio says it aims to keep lessons fun while still being educational and challenging, and students can record their playing in the studio's professional recording studio to track progress. Lesson length, what a first session looks like, whether an instrument is provided, and any trial-lesson policy aren't published on the site - ask the provider.
