TwentyFour Basketball Academy is a Dubai basketball club founded in 2024 by head coach Issam Termanini, training at LLFPM School in Meydan, Nad Al Sheba. It runs teams for boys and girls in every age band from U6 (ages 4 to 6) through U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19, plus adult men's and women's squads. The younger groups (U6 to U12) follow a beginner development programme built around fundamentals, balance, ball-handling, shooting and teamwork in a fun but competitive setting. From U14 to U19, players move into a competitive development programme with tactics, conditioning, scrimmages and tournament play. The academy's teams play in local leagues including Ball Above All (BAA) and the Dubai Open for Basketball Academies (DOBA), and it lists several age-group titles there. A strength and conditioning programme with Kenzai ME runs for ages 9 to 19. New players can book a free trial session.

The activity

Basketball, explained

Basketball is a fast team game where two sides try to shoot the ball through a hoop. In a kids' session, children work on the basics first: dribbling with both hands, passing, shooting form, footwork and simple defence, then put them together in small games. It builds coordination, speed, stamina and quick decision-making, and because five players share the court, it teaches communication and teamwork too. Many children start with a fun, game-based group before moving into age-group teams that train for matches and tournaments. At TwentyFour, the youngest group is U6, for ages 4 to 6, with teams by age band right up to U19.

Who it's for

Boys and girls from age 4. Age groups are U6 (ages 4-6), U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19 for both boys and girls, with adult men's and women's squads too. U6-U12 is the beginner development programme; U14-U19 is the competitive development programme. The strength and conditioning programme with Kenzai ME has two levels: Foundations Athlete Program (ages 9-14) and Elite Performance & Athlete Care Program (ages 15-19).

What to expect

New players can join with a free trial session, booked through the registration form on the academy's website (name, email, phone, date of birth and a message) or by phone. In the U6-U12 groups, sessions focus on fundamentals, balance, ball-handling, shooting and teamwork, taught in a fun, supportive but competitive way. Older groups add tactical work, conditioning, scrimmages and friendly games. Each training session mixes individual skills with game-like situations. Session days, times, kit list and fees are not published: ask the provider when you book the trial.
