Farah Momen Squash Academy
About Farah Momen Squash Academy
Farah Momen Squash Academy coaches squash for children and adults at the 365 Open Sports clubhouse on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, in Wadi Al Safa 2, Falconcity of Wonders. It was set up by Farah Momen, a professional squash player and former world No. 87, who is also its head coach. The academy says it welcomes all ages and all levels, from children picking up a racket for the first time to players training to compete. Junior Group Trainings restarted in September 2026 and work on agility, technique and discipline, and there are private one-to-one sessions, match play and squash-specific fitness too. Juniors who want to compete play in UAE Squash Association tournaments: at the season's first Gold Tournament in September 2026, academy players won the U19 event and reached the U17 and U19 podiums. The academy is rated 5.0 on Google from 46 reviews. To start, message it on WhatsApp to book an initial assessment session.
The activity
Squash, explained
Squash is a fast-paced racquet sport played on an enclosed court, where players hit a small rubber ball against the front wall. For children it builds hand-eye coordination, footwork, fitness and quick decision-making, and it suits a child who enjoys one-to-one or small-group coaching rather than team sport. Beginners usually start with basic racquet control, rallies against the wall and learning to score before moving on to match play. Because it is played indoors on a compact court, squash is a year-round option in Dubai's hot months. Starting ages vary between coaches, so ask the provider.
Who it's for
Children and adults of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to competitive players, as the academy describes itself. Children train in Junior Group Trainings, and its competitive juniors play UAE Squash Association events up to U19. There are separate adult, ladies' and private sessions. Ask the academy for the youngest age it takes and how junior groups are split.
What to expect
The first step is an initial assessment session, booked by WhatsApp on +971 52 351 3478 or by Instagram message; ask whether it is charged. Junior Group Trainings work on agility, racket technique and discipline, and the academy describes a normal day as full of energy, tactical training, hard work and lots of fun. Children who want more can add private one-to-one sessions to fix specific parts of their game, match play to practise under pressure, and squash-specific strength and conditioning. Keen juniors can go on to play UAE Squash Association tournaments with the academy, which also names a Player of the Month. Ask what to bring and whether racquets can be borrowed.
