About Dream League Recreation Services

Dream League runs adaptive sports classes for children and adults with special needs, which it describes as inclusive sports for children with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other complex diagnoses. The Dubai branch opened in November 2022. Its year-round programme centres on alpine skiing, roller skating and wall climbing, and the site also lists kayaking, SUP boarding and pararafting. The team says the sessions work on three things: physical skills like coordination, balance and endurance; skills that help with learning, such as attention, goal-setting and following instructions; and self-regulation and social skills, including independence, coping with setbacks and self-confidence. The team named on the site includes Dima, chief roller skating instructor, and Ksenia, chief alpine skiing instructor, who has been with Dream League since its first day; owner and general manager Mike has been visually impaired since early childhood. In February 2025 Dream League announced it had earned Certified Autism Center status from IBCCES after its team completed autism-specific training. Staff speak English and Russian, and families can book a free trial through the website or WhatsApp.

The activity

Adaptive Sports, explained

Adaptive sports are ordinary sports - skiing, skating, climbing, paddling - with the coaching, pace and equipment changed so that children with physical, sensory or developmental differences can take part. A trained instructor often works one-to-one or in a very small group, using aids such as ski frames, harnesses or stable boards, and breaks each skill into small steps. Alongside the fun, the sessions target balance, coordination, strength and body awareness, and build confidence, focus and the habit of following instructions. Many programmes take children from the early school years, but the right starting point depends on the child's needs, so families usually talk it through with the coaches before a first session.

Who it's for

Children and adults with special needs. The site lists physical impairments (for example cerebral palsy and spinal cord dysfunction), autism and intellectual developmental disorders, genetic syndromes such as Down syndrome and Williams syndrome, visual and hearing impairment, and post-traumatic and post-stroke conditions. It says the water sports approach suits people of all mobility levels, including children at GMFCS level 5. No age bands are published, so ask the provider whether your child's age and needs fit a group.

What to expect

Start with the free trial: leave your name and phone number on the website's booking form, or message the team on WhatsApp, and they will call you back. The site does not say how long a session lasts, how many children are in a group, what to wear or which venue each sport uses, so ask these when they call. It is worth sharing your child's diagnosis, sensory needs and any mobility aids up front; Dream League's own article on parents in adaptive sport says parents' knowledge of the child helps coaches plan safe, effective sessions. Prices and the weekly timetable are not published, so ask the provider.
