Gymnastika RG Club runs rhythmic gymnastics classes at Ambassador International Academy in Al Quoz, one of six centres the club lists across Dubai and Abu Dhabi (the others are The Agenda and Raffles International School in Dubai, and Yas American Academy, Al Shohub Private School and Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi). The club's 2026-2027 programme runs from a Mum + Baby class for 2-3 year olds through Beginners (born 2021-2024), Level Up, Baby Elite, Advanced, Teens, Pre-Competitive, Competitive and Elite Junior squads, plus an adults' class. Ambassador is where the club lists its RG Ballet class for ages 7-11. The club was founded by Anastasiya Zakreuskaya, a former national team member and FIG-certified coach and judge, and says it has 20 coaches, including international judges and coaches who have trained European and Olympic champions. A trial class costs AED 50, and term fees at Ambassador start from AED 1,729. Ask the provider which groups train at this centre.

The activity

Rhythmic Gymnastics, explained

Rhythmic gymnastics blends dance, flexibility and apparatus work into routines set to music. Children handle equipment such as the ball, hoop and ribbon, and competitive gymnasts perform individual routines on each apparatus. Along the way they build flexibility, balance, coordination, posture, musicality and the confidence to perform in front of an audience. Beginner classes are playful: stretching, simple balances, rhythm games and a first go with the apparatus. Children who love it can move on to more hours a week, technical skills and competition routines, while others simply keep training for fitness and fun. Many clubs take children from around age 3, with parent-and-child classes for younger toddlers.

Who it's for

Rhythmic gymnastics for girls from age 3 (the club's Beginners group is for children born 2021-2024), with a Mum + Baby class for boys and girls aged 2-3 with a parent and 4-5 on their own. Levels run from first-timers to competitive squads, plus a non-competitive Teens group for girls 10+ and an adults' class. Which of these groups run at Ambassador International Academy is not listed, apart from RG Ballet (ages 7-11) - ask the provider.

What to expect

Book a trial class (AED 50) through the form on the club's website, on WhatsApp (+971 54 788 1929) or via Instagram @gymnastikauae; the club says it will suggest the right group for your child's age and experience. For training, children wear the official Gymnastika uniform with white socks and light slippers for walking around the gym off the carpet, and hair is always tied up (a classic bun is suggested). Beginner groups train 1-2 hours a week. The club does not publish how a first session runs - ask when you book.
