About Baby Splash Dubai

BabySplash is a parent-and-child swim programme for babies and toddlers from 3 months to 3.5 years, held at Emirates Golf Club next to Nakheel Metro Station. The school says it was founded by Helen Bone-Knell in 2003, has run in Dubai for more than 20 years and has taught over 5,000 babies and toddlers, with fully qualified female instructors. Lessons last 30 minutes and are built on songs, toys and play rather than drills, with a parent in the water the whole time. Classes are split by age into Young BabySplash, BabySplash and ToddlerSplash groups, with weekend and Thursday morning slots. A 9-week course costs AED 1,035, and the Autumn 2026 term begins on Saturday 5 September, with online registration open. The pool is kept at about 30 degrees and the water is shallow enough to stand in. On Google it has a 4.0 rating from 11 reviews.

The activity

Swimming, explained

Baby and toddler swimming is a gentle, parent-and-child first step into the water. A parent is in the pool with the child the whole time, and the teacher leads songs, splashing, bubble-blowing and play with balls, rings and floating toys. The aim is water confidence rather than strokes: over time little ones move from assisted floating to gliding underwater, jumping in and fetching toys. Providers link it to strength, coordination, better appetite and sleep, and a lot of parent-child bonding. Classes can start from around 3 months, well before a child is ready for a formal learn-to-swim programme.

Who it's for

Babies and toddlers from 3 months to 3.5 years, with a parent or carer in the water with them. The groups are Young BabySplash (3-9 months), BabySplash (9-22 months) and ToddlerSplash (22 months to 3.5 years), and the school says ages are approximate and depend on each child's development. The school describes itself as an inclusive swim school; ask the provider about specific additional needs.

What to expect

Each lesson is a busy 30 minutes. A parent must be in the water with their child for the whole class, and the water is shallow enough to stand. The teacher leads songs and actions with balls, rings and floating toys, and the pool is kept at about 30 degrees. Arrive about 10 minutes early. Bring a swim nappy (compulsory; the school prefers washable ones), towels, a UV swimsuit and hat, and sun protection. The instructors bring everything else. Missed lessons are not made up, and fees are non-refundable. The school doesn't publish a trial policy, so ask the provider.
