About Hamilton Aquatics
Hamilton Aquatics is a swim academy running lessons at more than 30 pools across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, mostly inside schools and community venues such as GEMS Metropole School Motor City, Safa Community School and Veo Meadows Town Centre. Its head office is in Detroit House, Motor City; that is an office, not a pool. The Learn to Swim pathway starts with Hammy's Little Swimmers for babies from 3 months to 3 years (with a parent in the water), then Hammy's Skills School from 3 years and Hamilton Stroke School from 6 years. Swimming, explained
Learn-to-swim lessons build water confidence, breathing, floating and stroke technique in small, progressive steps, with children moving up through levels as their skills develop so parents can see progress term by term. The youngest start in parent-and-baby classes, where an adult is in the water and the focus is songs, play and feeling at home in the pool. Older children move on to kicking, independent floating and then the four competitive strokes: front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers who love it can go further into squads, water polo or artistic swimming, which add teamwork, fitness and competition.

Babies from 3 months to 3 years with a parent (Hammy's Little Swimmers: Aqua Babies 3-9 months, Aqua Tots 10-20 months, Aqua Splash 21-36 months); Hammy's Skills School for children aged 3 years+; Hamilton Stroke School for 6 years+; water polo for swimmers aged 6 and above with a strong swimming foundation; Synquatics artistic swimming for strong swimmers aged 5 and up; and squads for children ready to train and compete. Adult and masters swimming also run.
What to expect
The first step is a free assessment: the academy suggests the online one if your child has never swum and the in-person one if they know some basics. A teacher or coach checks your child's ability and allocates a level, and you then book lessons at your preferred pool in the Hamilton Bay app. Learn to Swim lessons last 30 minutes for Levels 1-4 and Bronze, 45 minutes for Silver and an hour for Gold and Platinum. In baby classes an adult goes in the water and a swim nappy is needed unless your child is potty trained. Squad hopefuls book a free trial by email. For kit, ask the provider.
