About Toddle Toes
Toddle Toes is a dance and movement class for babies and young children, run in Dubai by teacher Kim under the UK brand Tappy Toes. The Dubai timetable for the autumn 2026 term (1 September to 11 December) has classes at Cheeky Monkeys in Arabian Ranches 2, at Jumeirah Islands Pavilion and at Melodica on the lower ground floor of Nakheel Mall on the Palm, for children from 6 months up to 5 years. Sessions last 30 or 45 minutes and use colourful props, nursery rhymes and popular children's songs, with early dance steps such as twirls, pointed toes and galloping. Kim says she has been teaching for over 14 years, in the UK and in Dubai, including roles as an Assistant Head, Inclusion Lead and PE Lead, and found Toddle Toes while looking for a class for her own daughter. For the autumn 2026 term, a 3-for-2 trial is listed for the Wednesday class at Jumeirah Islands Pavilion and the Thursday 3PM class at Nakheel Mall. The team also runs dance parties for ages 1 to 5.
The activity
Dance, explained
Baby and toddler dance is music and movement for children who have only just found their feet, or who are not walking yet. There are no mirrors, no lines and no exams: children bounce, clap, twirl and gallop to nursery rhymes and children's songs, often with props such as scarves, ribbons, pom-poms, hoops and small instruments. Parents usually join in with the youngest ones. Along the way it builds balance and coordination, a sense of rhythm, listening and turn-taking, and the confidence to join in with a group. Many classes take babies from around six months, once they can sit up unaided, and run up to about school age.
Who it's for
Babies and young children from 6 months to 5 years. The autumn 2026 Dubai timetable lists Teeny Toes for 6 months to walking, mixed classes for walking to 2.5, 4 or 5 years (depending on the class), and Top Toes for 2.5 to 5 years. Mixed classes are aimed at siblings of different ages attending together. Parents join in with the Teeny Toes (6 months to walking) class; for older groups, ask the provider.
What to expect
A class lasts 30 minutes (Arabian Ranches 2) or 45 minutes (Jumeirah Islands and Nakheel Mall). Children move to nursery rhymes, popular children's songs and Toddle Toes' own songs, using props such as scarves, ribbons, pom-poms, maracas, hoops and musical instruments, and learn early dance steps like twirls, pointed toes and galloping. In the baby class, parents are encouraged to join in; no dance experience is needed. A 3-for-2 trial (three consecutive classes from the next available one, within the term, once per child) is listed for the Wednesday 10:30AM class at Jumeirah Islands Pavilion and the Thursday 3PM class at Nakheel Mall; for other classes, ask the provider. Trial bookings are non-refundable, and missed trial classes are not made up. What children should wear: ask the provider.
