The activity

Football, explained

Football (soccer) coaching teaches kids to control a ball with their feet, pass, dribble and work as a team towards scoring goals. Sessions usually mix drills - dribbling through cones, short passing games, shooting practice - with small-sided matches, so children learn technique and game sense at the same time. It builds fitness, coordination, quick decision-making and teamwork. Children who enjoy it can move from training squads into age-grouped teams that play friendlies and league matches. At Al Nasr, the private academy takes children from age 6, grouped by age.

Who it's for

Boys and girls aren't specified - the private academy page says it targets ages 6 to 18, and the 2026-27 fee sheet lists group ages 5-19 with two fee bands (U6-U10 and U11-U19). It suits children who want regular, structured football three evenings a week; if you have a 5-year-old or a daughter, ask the academy before registering.

What to expect

Sessions run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8pm to 9:15pm at the Al Nasr Football School, Street 15, Oud Metha. Teams are capped at 12 players, and the academy says sessions work on individual and team play through game situations, with coaches guiding players' decisions. A training kit comes with the one-off AED 650 admin fee at registration. No free trial or taster session is published - ask the academy on WhatsApp (+971 56 404 2523) before your first visit.
