The activity

After-School Club, explained

An after-school club gives children somewhere structured to go once the school day ends: hands-on workshops, games and small projects led by staff, rather than more screen time at home. Creative clubs like this mix cooking, arts and crafts, so a child might bake cupcakes one week and make slime, candles or a clay piece the next. Along the way kids build fine motor skills, confidence, independence and the habit of finishing what they start, and they usually take home something they made themselves. Many clubs run as fixed-length courses of weekly sessions; starting ages vary, so check the age band for each course before you book.

Who it's for

Children aged 3-18: the centre lists that range for its Kids Courses and its 2026 summer camp. It also offers one-to-one sessions and inclusive activities for children with different learning abilities, plus adult workshops for parents. Ask which course suits your child's age.

What to expect

The Kids Cooking Course is 12 sessions of 45-60 minutes, three or four times a week. Children learn kitchen safety and safe cutting, prepare recipes such as mini pizza, pasta, cupcakes, cookies, pancakes and mini shawarma, write recipe names and ingredient lists, and take their food home. The Kids Courses block is listed as 12 sessions at 3 hours a week. The site does not mention a trial class or what to bring, so ask the provider. A session cancelled more than 24 hours ahead can be rescheduled.
