About RoboLand Edutainment

RoboLand Edutainment is an indoor edutainment centre on the first floor of Times Square Center on Sheikh Zayed Road, built around hands-on STEM play. Its galleries include RoboExplore (interactive science exhibits), RoboMission (coding robots through a space-race challenge), RoboVerse (children's creations appear on surrounding screens), RoboLauncher (launching balls through tubes with blowers), RoboFun (an active play zone for ages 3-14) and RoboFast (racing cars powered by brain activity), plus RoboGiggles for children 23 months and under. RoboLand describes itself as the exclusive UAE provider of RoboThink, a STEM programme running in 23 countries, with robotics and coding, video game design and AI classes; it also runs Genius MAP, an abacus-based mental arithmetic programme. Visits are booked as timed gallery sessions, some with a one-hour RoboThink workshop. It also hosts birthday parties and school field trips, and runs school-holiday camps (the last one listed was a spring camp, April 20-24, for ages 4-12). Open daily 10am-8pm.

The activity

Robotics, explained

Robotics for kids means building, programming and controlling machines - from simple motorised models to coding a robot to complete a task - so children learn engineering and computational thinking by making something move and respond. At an edutainment centre this is blended with hands-on interactive exhibits, so kids can explore science, space and technology ideas through play as well as in structured classes. Coding often starts with block-based programming, where children snap commands together instead of typing code, before moving on to bigger projects such as designing a simple video game. It builds problem-solving, patience and teamwork, and gives children a first taste of how engineers test, fail and try again.

Who it's for

Children, from babies to early teens. RoboGiggles is for children 23 months and under; the RoboFun play zone is for ages 3-14; the spring holiday camp was for ages 4-12; school field trips are for FS1 and above. Age bands for RoboThink and Genius MAP classes are not published - ask RoboLand.

What to expect

Visits are booked online as timed packages: a 2-hour experience with access to all galleries; a 2-hour edutainment experience (1 hour in the galleries plus a 1-hour RoboThink workshop); a 3-hour edutainment experience (2 hours in the galleries plus a 1-hour RoboThink workshop); or a 1-hour RoboThink workshop on its own. Single-visit ticket prices are shown only in the booking widget, so check when you book. Regular visitors can buy a 3-month membership covering one child and one adult. RoboThink and Genius MAP classes are arranged through the site's enquiry form; class times and fees are not published, and there is no published trial policy - ask RoboLand.
