Al Barsha

Prime Focus Educational Services is a tutoring and language centre founded in 2015, with its base at Office 211, The Light Commercial Tower in Arjan (Al Barsha South). Lessons run three ways: at the centre, at your home, or online. School tutoring covers preschool through to university, and the tutoring page lists IB, IGCSE, CBSE, AP and SABIS support, with the homepage also mentioning ICSE and American curriculums. Subjects range from maths, the sciences and English to Arabic (A and B), Islamic Studies and Quran, French, Spanish, German and Mandarin. Language courses cover Arabic, English, French, Spanish and many more, as private lessons or small groups, from beginner to advanced. The centre also offers one-to-one piano, guitar and violin lessons, children's art classes, homeschooling support and exam preparation. Families start with a free 30-minute consultation with a proposed tutor, then pick a lesson package.

The activity

Language Classes, explained

Language and subject tutoring for children usually means small, personal sessions - often one-to-one - rather than a big class. For a new language, children start with everyday words and phrases, then build vocabulary, listening and speaking confidence through conversation, songs and games, before moving on to reading and writing. School-subject tutoring works alongside a child's own curriculum: the tutor spots gaps, then works through homework, topics and exam practice at the child's pace. It builds confidence and study habits as much as grades. Many families start language lessons in the early primary years, while subject tutoring can begin whenever a child needs a boost or is preparing for exams.

Who it's for

Children and teenagers from preschool through high school, plus university students and adults; language courses take beginners to advanced learners, one-to-one or in small groups.

What to expect

You get in touch, and the centre proposes a tutor based on your child's needs. The next step is a free 30-minute consultation with that tutor, in person or online, so you can meet them before committing. If you are happy, you approve the tutor, buy a lesson package and complete the registration form. Lessons can be at the Arjan centre, at home or online, and times are arranged with the tutor rather than set on a fixed timetable. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice. Ask the provider what to bring to the first lesson.
