About Premier Football Academy

The academy says it was set up in Dubai in 2014 and is led by Director of Football and CEO Mark McCarrick, whom it describes as an ex-professional footballer and a UEFA- and AFC-qualified coach. At Town Square, children train in four age bands - 4-6, 7-8, 9-11 and 12-16 - with one-hour evening sessions from Monday to Thursday. The academy's curriculum moves from ball mastery, coordination and learning through play for the youngest players to positional play, small-sided games and match preparation for older children, alongside teamwork and sportsmanship. Two sessions a week (8 classes) cost AED 550 including VAT. The academy also trains at Living Legends, Al Twar and Damac Hills 2. It is rated 4 on Google from 4 reviews, and parents can book a free trial session before signing up.

The activity

Football, explained

Football coaching for kids builds the basics - passing, first touch, dribbling and shooting - through drills and small-sided games, alongside the fitness, teamwork and communication that come from playing on a team. Younger children usually start with fun, ball-mastery games rather than tactics, moving into positional play and match structure as they get older. Sessions typically run once or twice a week during term time, with many academies also offering holiday camps and, for stronger players, pathways into competitive squads or trials with bigger clubs.

Who it's for

Children aged 4 to 16 at the Town Square pitch, grouped as ages 4-6, 7-8, 9-11 and 12-16. The academy says its programmes are for children of all abilities.

What to expect

Sessions last an hour in the evening. On its programme pages, the academy describes its U6 programme as learning through play - passing, dribbling, ball control, balance and coordination, with 3v3 and 4v4 small-sided games - and its U10 programme as working on playing positions, quick decision-making and match scenarios through 4v4 and 5v5 small-sided games. New players can book a free trial session through the academy's ClassCard booking page, with no commitment. Payment is by bank transfer using a QR code. For kit and what to bring, ask the provider.
