About Manchester City Football Schools
Manchester City Football Schools runs weekly term-time football coaching for girls and boys aged 3 to 18, led by Manchester City coaches and shaped by the methodology developed at the City Football Academy. In Dubai, sessions take place at Nord Anglia School in Al Barsha South and at Dubai British School Mira in Al Yalayis 1, with a third venue at Citizens School in Al Satwa. The youngest players, aged 3 to 5, start with Move to Play, a fun introduction to football and basic movement skills. From 6, children join Football School, which is open to all abilities, and players ready for more can move into Development, Select or Elite squads, girls-only City girls sessions or goalkeeping. Terms follow the school year: Term One runs 31 August to 31 October 2026 and Term Two 2 November 2026 to 29 January 2027. Fees for 2026/27 are published per term by birth year, and places are booked online or by phone.
The activity
Football, explained
Youth football training builds ball control, passing, movement and teamwork through drills and small-sided games, usually finishing with some form of match play so kids get to use what they've practised. Coaches typically group children by age and ability, and sessions often run alongside seasonal camps, friendly tournaments or gala days that give kids a taste of competition outside the weekly programme. Most academies welcome complete beginners as well as more experienced players, adjusting the pace and drills to the group.
Who it's for
Girls and boys aged 3 to 18, from children taking their first steps in football to ambitious young players. Ages 3-5 join Move to Play; ages 6-18 join Football School, open to all abilities and experience. For more of a challenge there are Development and Select squads (6-18), Elite squads (10-18), a Talented Player Program (10-15), City girls for girls only (6-18) and goalkeeping (6-18).
What to expect
Sessions are age-appropriate and game-realistic, working on technique, game understanding, decision-making, teamwork and confidence, with groups set by birth year. Most new players join at Football School level, where the coaches meet them and assess their level. In Term One 2026 at Nord Anglia School, Football School groups train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30pm and on Fridays at 4pm; at Dubai British School Mira they train on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm and on Saturdays at 8am and 9:30am. Term fees do not include the kit registration fee of AED 300 plus 5% VAT. Ask the provider whether a taster session is offered and what to bring.
