NKey Swim Club: swimming for kids in Dubai
About Nkey Swim Club
NKey Swim Club is a Dubai swimming club founded by Nikita Konovalov, a Russian swimmer who describes himself as a world and European champion and record holder. Its Dubai account offers training for beginners and experienced swimmers. In August 2026 the club opened Term 1 enrolment for competitive and sport squads, sport swimming groups, programmes for different ages and levels, and beginner groups that teach correct sport swimming from scratch. The same month it launched Baby Swim, a programme for its youngest swimmers built around body position, breathing, coordination and confidence in the water. The club's Dubai posts name Hamdan Sports Complex, on Emirates Road opposite Global Village, as the pool for its holiday camps and masterclasses, so ask which pool your child's group trains at. Its squad swimmers race at UAE meets, including DIAC and the Hamilton Aquatics Super Sprint in 2026. Fees and a term timetable are not published, so ask the club. It posts in English on Instagram and in Russian on Telegram.
The activity
Swimming, explained
Club swimming goes beyond learning to stay afloat. Children work on the four strokes (front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly), plus starts from the block, turns at the wall and underwater work off each push. Sessions usually mix drills that break a stroke into parts with longer swims that build fitness, and coaches give feedback from the poolside. Over time swimmers learn to pace themselves, follow a set and train as part of a squad, and some go on to race in galas. Most clubs expect a child to swim a short distance on their own before joining a squad, so younger or newer swimmers often start in a beginner group.
Who it's for
Children who are new to swimming through to squad swimmers who race. In August 2026 the club invited new swimmers aged 4 and over to try its Dubai training, and its Term 1 groups cover beginners, sport swimming and competitive squads for different ages and levels. Baby Swim is its programme for the youngest swimmers; ages for it are not published, so ask. In October 2025 the club also advertised individual swimming programmes for children with cerebral palsy and autism; ask whether these are running now.
What to expect
The club has not published a term timetable or what a first session looks like, so ask when you get in touch. Its holiday camps give a feel for how it trains: the October 2026 Morning Intensive Camp at Hamdan Sports Complex started at 8AM with technique theory and land drills, then a poolside warm-up, 90 minutes of water training and stretching by the pool, finishing at 11:45AM. For Baby Swim, the club says the aim is proper technique, breathing and confidence, not just staying afloat. In August 2026 it offered free trial sessions for new swimmers aged 4 and over; ask whether a trial is available now and what kit your child needs.
