About Multisport Club Dubai

Multisport Club Dubai is a children's sports academy running multisport for 3 to 12 year olds, plus swimming. Its multisport sessions mix gymnastics, athletics, dance and rhythm, and elements of martial arts with ball sports such as football, volleyball, netball and basketball. Children are grouped by age into Tigers (3-5), Cheetahs (6-8) and Lions (9-12). This listing is its multisport venue at GEMS Jumeirah Primary School in Al Safa; the club also runs multisport at GEMS Metropole School in Motor City, on weekdays and at weekends. MCD Swim teaches in small, levelled groups (Fishes, Dolphins, Sharks and Orcas) at pools including JESS Jumeirah, with a Swim Squad for stronger swimmers. The club's motto is "Children should identify as children, not as athletes", and it says play and an individual approach sit at the centre of every session. Rates are set per session and billed for the whole term, with a free trial session to start and discounts for siblings, extra sessions and booking several terms.

The activity

Multi-Sports, explained

Multisport means children try lots of sports in one programme instead of specialising early. A typical session mixes running, jumping and balance work from gymnastics and athletics with ball games such as football, basketball or netball, often wrapped in playful games for the youngest. The point is broad movement skills: coordination, balance, agility, strength and confidence, plus the social side of playing in a team and taking turns. Because it builds the basics that every sport draws on, multisport suits children from about three upwards and works well for kids who haven't found their sport yet, or who want variety alongside one they already love.

Who it's for

Multisport is for children aged 3-12: MCD Tigers (3-5 years), MCD Cheetahs (6-8 years), MCD Lions (9-12 years). Swimming runs from complete beginners (MCD Fishes) up to a Development and Competitive Swim Squad; the club does not publish an age range for swimming, so ask the provider. Holiday camps are for ages 4-12, and after-school sessions at some GEMS schools are for FS1, FS2, Y1 and Y2. The club also lists adult swim sessions, which are separate from the children's programme.

What to expect

Start with a free trial: the club offers free multisport and swim trial sessions, booked through its online booking portal. Tigers sessions last 45 minutes, built around movement games, with a minimum of two a week. Cheetahs sessions last an hour (minimum two a week) and Lions an hour (minimum three a week). For multisport, bring sports trainers and a water bottle; members wear the MCD T-shirt and shorts. For swimming, pack a swimsuit, cap, goggles, towel and flip-flops. Children aged 7 and under need a parent or guardian on site throughout, and phones are not allowed poolside. Session times depend on venue and level: ask the club when you book.
