Kitesurfing & Windsurfing, explained

Kitesurfing means riding a small board across the water while steering a large kite that catches the wind. Lessons usually begin on the sand, learning how the kite flies, how to launch and land it safely and how to read the wind, before moving into the water. Wing foiling swaps the kite for a hand-held wing and uses a board that lifts above the surface on a fin called a foil. Stand-up paddleboarding is the gentlest start: standing on a wide board and paddling, which builds balance and core strength. Whether a child is ready depends on their swimming, size and confidence, so ask the school whether it takes children and which activity would suit yours.
