Book online

iCodejr is a Dubai-based coding, robotics and AI academy for children from KG to Grade 12 (roughly ages 5 to 18), teaching live classes online and in person at select UAE locations. Five and six-year-olds start on ScratchJr, AI Explorers and RoboPlay in the KG-1 path; older children follow grade-based learning paths in Coding + AI, Robotics + AI or a Combined Path, or pick individual courses such as Scratch, Minecraft, Roblox Studio, Python, web development, Tinkercad 3D design and Generative AI. Older grades move on to C++, Arduino, micro:bit, Unity and React. Classes are live with an instructor, 1-on-1 or in a small group of up to four, and every programme is project-based, so children build games, apps and robots. Parents get progress reports, project showcases and certificates. It is rated 4.9 on Google from 62 reviews.

The activity

Coding, explained

Coding classes teach children to build games, apps, websites and robots step by step, starting with visual block-based tools like Scratch before moving into text-based languages such as Python. Kids learn logical thinking, problem-solving and persistence as they debug their own projects, and most programmes start from around age 5 with block-based coding, moving to real programming languages as they get older. It's a good fit for kids who like building things and don't mind a bit of trial and error.

Who it's for

Children from KG to Grade 12 (about ages 5-18), in grade bands: KG-1 (ages 5-6), Grades 2-3 (7-8), Grades 4-5 (9-10), Grades 6-8 (11-13) and Grades 9-12 (14-18). No prior coding experience needed; every child starts at a level suited to their age.

What to expect

The first step is a free trial: a live session with a mentor, typically 45-60 minutes, where your child works on an age-appropriate project while the mentor assesses their level and interests, then recommends a learning plan. No payment is needed and parents are welcome to observe. Online classes run on Zoom and need a laptop or desktop and a stable internet connection; a tablet or iPad is recommended for the KG-1 path. Sessions are bought as 50-minute credits that don't expire and can be paused. Days and times are agreed with the team to suit your family.
