About Grace Gymnastics Dubai

Grace Gymnastics Dubai is a rhythmic gymnastics academy for girls with branches in Al Waha (at GEMS Metropole School), Dubai Hills (at GEMS International School on Al Khail Road) and Dubai Silicon Oasis. The same three programmes run at every branch: Beginners, Intermediate and Competitive. Beginners is a first taste of the sport, with simple moves and good habits, and most girls start there at four to six. Intermediate brings in the rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon and first full routines, and Competitive prepares girls for national and international events. Head coach Iryna Horodyska holds a Masters of Sports in Rhythmic Gymnastics, and the academy says it has more than 160 active athletes. Training is on an indoor, air-conditioned floor in small groups matched by age, and the Al Waha and Dubai Hills branches each run four days a week. The activity

Gymnastics, explained

Rhythmic gymnastics mixes gymnastics, ballet-style movement and dance, performed on a floor carpet to music. Girls work on balance, flexibility, strength and coordination, then learn to handle the five pieces of apparatus - rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon - while moving their own body at the same time. Routines are built up step by step, from simple freehand elements to full choreographed pieces that can be performed at competitions. Alongside the physical side, it builds focus, posture and the confidence to perform in front of others. At Grace Gymnastics, most girls start in the Beginners group at four to six years old.

Who it's for

Girls. The academy's classes are for daughters, grouped by age and ability. Most girls start in the Beginners group at four to six years old; Intermediate is for girls ready for apparatus work and full routines, and Competitive is for girls training for national and international events. Ask the academy which group suits your daughter's age and experience.

What to expect

Each branch offers trial classes: message the academy on WhatsApp (+971 58 202 4130) and they will find your daughter a slot. She wears comfortable stretchy clothes (no leotard needed) and trains with girls her own age while a coach checks her flexibility, coordination and confidence and places her in the right group. The Silicon Oasis page calls its trial free and the other branch pages do not say, so ask whether the trial is charged. Parking is near the entrance at each branch. Enrolment runs through the academy's online booking system on ClassCard. Session times are not published, so ask when you book.
