About DKing Combat
DKing Combat is a self-defence school in Al Quoz running a Kids Self-Defence programme for ages 6-16. Sessions are 60 minutes, capped at 12 children, open to all levels, and cover basic defensive movements and escapes, anti-bullying strategies and verbal assertiveness, stranger awareness and safety rules, plus coordination, discipline and emotional control. The DKing Combat System was created by coach DKing Saad, who has 20+ years of martial arts and combat training experience, including Krav Maga instructor certification and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt. Enrolment is application-only: families apply for an assessment (a refundable AED 100 fee) before starting, and sessions start from AED 150 each. Training is based at Max Burn Gym in Al Quoz 3, and the team replies to enquiries on WhatsApp.
The activity
Martial Arts, explained
Self-defence training teaches practical ways to stay safe: escapes from grabs, awareness of surroundings, and verbal strategies for dealing with confrontation, alongside coordination, discipline and fitness. Unlike sport-focused martial arts, the aim is protection rather than competition, so classes tend to cover situational awareness and de-escalation as much as physical technique. Programmes for children are usually adapted to keep drills age-appropriate and build confidence gradually. It suits kids who want a structured, discipline-building activity, including those dealing with bullying concerns.
Who it's for
Children aged 6-16, all levels welcome, in groups of up to 12.
