About Dive Tribe

Dive Tribe is a PADI dive centre on Street 23B in Al Quoz Industrial 4, with its own 60 sqm training pool at three different depths and classrooms on site. It describes itself as a 5 Star IDC PADI Dive Center and runs PADI courses from a first Discover Scuba Diving session up to instructor training, plus dive trips to Fujairah, Musandam and Oman's Daymaniyat Islands. It also lists three PADI programmes for young divers. PADI Bubblemaker (AED 420), for children aged 8 and over, is a first go at breathing underwater and playing in full dive gear in shallow water, with a fully qualified Dive Tribe instructor supervising. PADI Seal Team (AED 1,050), also 8+, turns basic scuba skills into 'AquaMissions', from floating to underwater photography. PADI Master Seal Team (AED 1,050) adds 10 more advanced AquaMissions, including night diving and environmental awareness. Courses are valid for a year from purchase and are not refundable, so check dates and your child's readiness before you pay.

The activity

Scuba Diving, explained

Scuba diving means breathing underwater from a tank of air through a mouthpiece called a regulator, while wearing a mask, fins and a buoyancy jacket. Children usually start in a pool rather than the sea: an instructor fits their gear, shows them how to breathe slowly and calmly, and stays right beside them in shallow water. A first try is a play session, not a course. Later programmes add skills step by step, such as floating at a steady depth, clearing water from the mask and finding their way underwater. Diving builds calm breathing, body awareness, confidence in water and curiosity about the sea. At this centre, the kids' programmes start at age 8.

Who it's for

Children aged 8 and over for PADI Bubblemaker and PADI Seal Team, as the course pages state. The PADI Master Seal Team page gives no age; it describes advanced AquaMissions for young divers, so ask whether Seal Team must come first. The Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water and other course pages, and the dive trip listings, give no minimum age, so ask the provider before booking one for a child. None of the course pages mentions a swimming test; ask the provider what your child needs to be able to do.

What to expect

A child's first dive here is PADI Bubblemaker at Dive Tribe HQ in Al Quoz Industrial 4. A fully qualified Dive Tribe instructor supervises, your child wears full dive gear, and they learn to breathe underwater and play around in shallow water. The centre has a 60 sqm training pool with three different depths, and classrooms on site. You can book online with the Book Now button, or by phone or email. The course pages don't give session length, times, what to bring or swimming requirements, so ask the provider when you book. Courses are valid for one year from purchase, with no refunds.
