About Champ Belts Kickboxing & Muay Thai Club
Champ Belts is a kickboxing, Muay Thai and boxing club in Al Quoz Industrial Area 3 with a kids' programme covering all three disciplines. Children train in a separate kids' hall that the club calls a "safe" hall, where parents can monitor their child's training online. Kids' groups are formed by age and training level, with up to 20 children per group. One-to-one sessions are available from age 4, kids' groups start at 9, and teens over 14 can join the adult group classes. The kids' group timetable runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 4:30-5:30pm, with coach Pavel Misko, a Master of Sports in Muay Thai. The club was founded by head coach Andrey Gridin, who the club says has trained more than 30 world champions. On site there is a main ring, a kids' training area, changing rooms with lockers and showers, and the club supplies gloves, wraps and pads. Classes are taught in English and Russian.
The activity
Martial Arts, explained
Kickboxing, Muay Thai and boxing are striking sports: children learn punches, kicks, footwork and defence, and Muay Thai adds knees and elbows - it is known as the art of eight limbs. A typical kids' class moves from a warm-up into technical drills on pads and bags, partner work and a cool-down. Along the way children build coordination, stamina, speed and focus, and learn habits like listening to the coach, respecting a partner and sticking to a routine. Clubs usually group children by age and level, and many offer one-to-one sessions for children who are too young for a group or want extra attention. Trying more than one style before settling is common.
Who it's for
Children from age 4 for one-to-one sessions; kids' group classes from age 9; teens over 14 can join adult group classes. Groups are formed by age and training level. Boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai are all offered for kids.
What to expect
A kids' class lasts one hour: warm-up, main training and a cool-down. Children don't need their own kit - comfortable sportswear is enough, and the club supplies gloves, wraps and pads. Kickboxing and Muay Thai are trained barefoot; for boxing, comfortable trainers are fine. Coaches break techniques into simple steps and work in English and Russian. To start, fill in the booking form on the kids' page (choose boxing, kickboxing or Muay Thai, and group or personal training) and the club says it will reply within the day. Prices and any trial class aren't published, so ask the provider.
