The activity

Dance, explained

Dance classes build rhythm, coordination, flexibility and confidence through structured movement, ranging from ballet's precise positions and stretches to the partner work and footwork of ballroom styles. Younger children usually start with ballet basics - posture, simple positions, a bit of stretching and imaginative movement - before layering in technique as they grow. In ballroom, children learn set steps and dance with a partner, which also builds teamwork and social confidence. Older kids and teens can move into more structured technique, often with the option of performing at showcases or entering competitions. Regular classes help with stamina, balance and posture as well as self-expression on the dance floor.

Who it's for

The studio focuses mainly on adults but runs programmes for kids and youth. The kids page offers ballroom dancing for girls and boys, and ballet for the youngest children, pitched at girls from 3 years old. Age bands for each class are not published, and the kids page also covers the Abu Dhabi branch - ask the provider which kids classes run at the Dubai studio.

What to expect

The first step is a sample class with one of the studio's instructors, booked through the contact form on the website (choose 'Kids Classes') or by phone. For kids, training combines group dance classes with private lessons and practice sessions, and in ballroom children dance with a partner, which the studio says helps them make friends and build confidence. The studio has a 24-hour cancellation policy for booked classes. What to wear and bring, and the kids class timetable, are not published - ask the provider before the first session.
