The activity

Water Parks, explained

An inflatable water park is a giant floating obstacle course set on a pool. Kids clamber over air-filled blocks, balance along beams, crawl through arches, bounce, slide and tumble into the water, then swim to the next section and go again. It is loud, splashy fun rather than a lesson, but it builds water confidence, balance, strength and a fair bit of stamina. Each venue sets its own minimum age, height and swimming rules; Aqua Parks Leisure says it is suitable from 3 years old, so ask about swimming ability and adult supervision before you go with younger children.

Who it's for

Children from 3 years old and up, according to the venue's Instagram, plus older kids, teens and adults (the Google photo shows all three on the course in life jackets). Swimming requirements and whether younger children need an adult in the water are not published; ask the provider.
