Aptech Computer Training is a computer-training institute with centres in Bur Dubai and Sharjah. Most of its catalogue is aimed at students and working professionals: programming, data, office software, design and engineering tools. For children there is a Cartoon Movie Making Using AI Tools course for ages 8 to 16, which Aptech lists at both its Dubai and Sharjah centres. Beginners with basic computer skills are welcome, and no prior experience is needed. Kids storyboard and script a short animated film with ChatGPT, record voices with ElevenLabs, design characters in Adobe Express, build scenes in Canva and edit in Clipchamp. The course runs online or at the centre and is listed as available at your convenience. The site also lists Whizkid & Wonder Teens summer courses in animation, web design, video editing, Python and coding, but with no ages, dates or year, so ask whether they will run again. Fees are not published for any children's course.

The activity

Coding, explained

Coding for children is about learning to give a computer clear, step-by-step instructions. Younger learners often start with visual blocks or simple web pages, then move on to typed languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python. Along the way they build logical thinking, patience with problems that don't work first time, and the confidence to make something of their own, whether that is a small website, a game or a short animation. Creative tech courses, such as making a cartoon with AI tools, mix storytelling with these skills. A short course is a low-commitment way to see whether it clicks before signing up for anything longer.

Who it's for

Cartoon Movie Making Using AI Tools is for children aged 8 to 16 with basic computer skills; no prior experience is needed. The Whizkid & Wonder Teens vacation courses are aimed at children and teenagers, but no age range is published for them: ask the provider. The rest of the catalogue is for students and working professionals.

What to expect

On the Cartoon Movie Making course, children go from an idea and storyboard to a finished short cartoon: scripting with ChatGPT, character voices with ElevenLabs, characters in Adobe Express, backgrounds in Canva and editing in Clipchamp. It runs online or at the centre, at a time that suits you. The Whizkid & Wonder Teens outlines are more technical: the Python outline runs to classes and inheritance, so ask which age each course is pitched at. The site does not describe a first session, a trial, what to bring, class size or course length: ask the provider when you enquire.
