Algorithm is a training centre in Dubai Knowledge Village for children from 5.5 years old, with Russian-speaking teachers and native English-speaking teachers under one roof. Its core is language: Russian for children at English-medium international schools who want to keep their Russian, Russian as a foreign language for bilingual children and beginners, English built on Cambridge English and Jolly Phonics, and Arabic with a native-speaking teacher. Alongside that sit Russian-style maths, chess, painting and drawing, a woodwork workshop and an art history course with Pick Art. For families following the Russian curriculum there is a hybrid programme for grades 1 to 8, with lessons at the centre on Fridays or Saturdays and online lessons during the week. Groups are matched by level and prices are published per lesson and per 10-lesson pack. A free consultation and assessment come first, and trial classes are available. Russian-speaking and bilingual families are the core audience; English, Arabic, chess and art classes are also offered.

The activity

Tuition Centre, explained

An after-school learning centre runs small, level-matched classes that sit alongside a child's main school day. Children might keep up their home language, strengthen reading and writing in English, practise maths problem-solving or try a creative subject such as painting, woodwork or chess. The aim is steady progress and confidence rather than exam cramming, and good centres start with an assessment so a child joins the right group. Many families begin around age five or six, once early reading starts, and keep going through primary school as a regular weekly routine.

Who it's for

Children from 5.5 years old. Age bands on the courses page: Russian 5.5-15, Russian as a foreign language 5.5-14, Russian maths 7-11, English 5.5-13, Arabic 7-15, woodwork 5.5-14, painting and drawing 5.5-14, art history 5.5-14, online lessons in Russian 5.5-16, international school admission prep 5.5-10. The hybrid Russian-curriculum programme is for grades 1 to 8. Groups are formed by level of knowledge.

What to expect

Start with a free consultation and assessment, face to face or online: you meet the teacher, see how lessons run and hear your child's strengths and gaps, then agree a plan and format. Trial classes can be booked on the website, by phone, WhatsApp or Telegram; ask whether there is a charge. Enrolment means a registration form, the centre's service rules and a deposit. Groups hold up to 16 children and are set by level; the English courses page lists mini-groups of up to 4. Learning materials are included in the price, and you do not need an Emirates ID to attend. Kit to bring: ask the provider.
