About FRWRD
FRWRD Tutors is a KHDA-permitted tutoring centre in Mazaya Business Avenue (Office 1702, Tower BB1) in Jumeirah Lake Towers, teaching since 2011, with lessons in the centre or online. It covers Years 1 to 13: phonics, guided reading, English, Maths and Science for primary children; English, Maths, the three sciences and subjects such as History, Geography and Computer Science for Years 7 to 11; and sixth-form subjects plus IELTS and SAT preparation for Years 12 and 13. CAT verbal, non-verbal and spatial reasoning practice for school entrance tests runs through every stage. Lessons are one to one, two to one or five to one, in one-hour sessions bought as packages of 6, 12 or 24. The centre says its teachers are British, Irish and Australian qualified teachers with education degrees. Every package starts with a free assessment, parents get access to an online portal, and the first paid lesson works as a trial. It is rated 5.0 on Google from 28 reviews.
The activity
Tuition Centre, explained
A tuition centre gives school-age children extra teaching outside the school day, one to one or in a very small group. Lessons follow what the child is learning at school, so a Year 3 pupil might work on phonics, reading and times tables while a Year 10 student practises GCSE Maths or Chemistry questions. Many Dubai families also use tuition to prepare for school entrance tests such as CAT verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Good tuition starts by finding the gaps, then builds confidence as much as marks, because a child who understands why a method works stops dreading the subject. Families often start in the primary years or in the run-up to big exams.
Who it's for
Children and teenagers in Years 1 to 13, from phonics and guided reading in the primary years to secondary and sixth-form subjects such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology, plus IELTS and SAT preparation for Years 12 and 13. Families preparing for school entrance tests can book CAT verbal, non-verbal and spatial reasoning lessons. The centre also teaches adults. Support for special educational needs is not described on the site - ask the provider.
What to expect
The first step is a free assessment, in the centre or online. It is not a full lesson: the teacher checks your child's current level and agrees learning goals with you, and it is the time to discuss lesson formats and secure your preferred time slots. Your child then starts one-hour lessons, one to one, two to one or five to one. The first paid lesson acts as a trial: if you decide not to continue, the centre refunds the remaining lessons of the package within 7 days. Workbooks, textbooks, exam papers and stationery are included. Students are encouraged to arrive 5 minutes early. Package prices are not published - ask the provider for a quote.
