The activity

Tuition Centre, explained

Tuition matches a child with a tutor for one-to-one or small-group support outside school, usually to fill gaps, prepare for exams, or push ahead in a subject. Sessions can run at home, online or at a centre, and typically follow the school curriculum the child is already studying - IGCSE, A-Level or IB, for example. A tutor is normally matched to the child's level and exam board, then sessions run weekly or as needed in the run-up to exams. It suits any child who needs focused, personalised help rather than a classroom pace.

Who it's for

Children and teens in Grades 1 to 12, with a focus on the IGCSE, A-Level and IB curricula, who want one-to-one help at home in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, or online. Pricing is split into Grades 1-10 and Grades 11-12. Ask the provider about support for special educational needs.

What to expect

Start with a free consultation with no commitment; Unitors says it then matches a tutor within 24 hours. It also offers a discounted introductory session so you can try a tutor before signing up. Online plans are 8 one-to-one sessions a month with an interactive whiteboard, progress reports and session recordings. Home plans are 4 two-hour sessions a month in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, with study materials included and a free tutor replacement if the match isn't right. Lessons can be booked 7 days a week. Ask the provider about online session length and cancellation terms.
