The activity

Tuition Centre, explained

A tuition centre gives children extra teaching outside school, usually one-to-one or in small groups. A tutor works through the subjects a child finds hard or the exams they are heading towards, following the same curriculum their school uses, whether that is British, IB, American or Indian. Sessions build understanding, confidence and study habits, and many families use tutoring before key exams such as GCSEs or A levels. Some centres also teach languages or skills such as coding alongside school subjects. Tutoring is usually booked by the hour, and most families start when a child is at primary or secondary school and needs a boost in a particular subject.

Who it's for

School-age children and teenagers who want one-to-one help with their school curriculum (British, IB, CBSE, SABIS, American AP, UAE and others), plus language and coding learners. Older students and adults take its IELTS, PTE and professional courses. Specific age limits are not published, so ask the provider.

What to expect

You tell WeConnect Learning your child's curriculum and the subjects they need help with, then buy the number of classes you need, and your child has one-to-one lessons with a tutor, at home, in person or online. The website also offers a free 45-minute trial class at a convenient time, on a topic of your choice, so ask when to book it. There is no published price list. The pricing form asks for your child's age, grade or curriculum, subjects and hours needed, and the institute replies with a quote. For what to bring and where in-person lessons take place, ask the provider.
