About Touchline Football Academy
Touchline Football Academy (Touchline Sport Academy on its own site) runs age-grouped football training for boys and girls, from a U6 Pre-Academy through U8, U10, U12 and U14+ squads, plus adult football (16+). A dedicated girls' group is forming now, and the academy is taking registrations of interest. It trains at two venues: inside Al Ahli Club in Al Nahda 1, behind Al Mulla Plaza and steps from Stadium Metro, which it calls its main location, and inside International Academy in Al Warqa 1. The site says both offer the same age groups and training types. Coaches hold CAF C, AFC B and AFC A licences, according to the academy. Sessions run Monday to Sunday, mostly in the evening, and the programme pages list weekly session times. Fees are published too: Term 1 (September to December) is AED 1,600 for 32 sessions, plus a one-off AED 250 registration fee that includes two kit sets. Your child's first session is free.
The activity
Football, explained
Football training builds a child's ball control, balance, coordination and teamwork through drills and small-sided games. The youngest groups are mostly play: dribbling games, lots of touches on the ball and learning to take turns, with no pressure to win. As children move up the age groups, sessions add passing combinations, positions, tactics and proper matches, and players learn to handle both winning and losing. Many academies start children at around four, once they can follow simple instructions in a group. Football suits beginners and keen players alike, and a free trial session is a low-risk way to see if your child enjoys it.
Who it's for
Boys and girls of all levels, beginners included. The U6 Pre-Academy programme page says ages 4-6 (the homepage says 3-5). The U8, U10 and U12 programme pages give ages 6-8, 8-10 and 10-12, while the homepage and locations page give 6-7, 8-9 and 10-11, with U14 for 12-14, so ask which group fits your child. A dedicated girls' group (the girls' page says ages 6 to 14) is still forming, and there is adult football for 16+. If your child is 3, ask the provider whether they can join yet.
What to expect
The first session is free, with no commitment: fill in the enquiry form on the site, say which branch you want, and the team says it replies within 24 hours to confirm the time and venue. U6 sessions are fun-based: playful dribbling, 2v2 and 3v3 games and balance and coordination work in a non-competitive setting. U8 adds passing, shooting and 3v3/4v4 games. Sessions are 60 minutes for U6 and U8. If you join, there is a one-off AED 250 registration fee, which includes two jersey sets and shorts.
