About Topgolf Dubai
Topgolf Dubai is a golf entertainment venue at Emirates Golf Club in Emirates Hills, with 96 climate-controlled hitting bays facing an outfield of targets. Families rent a bay by the hour for one to six players; balls and clubs are included, and children's clubs are available from the Bay Host. Microchipped balls score each shot on the bay screen, and the games marked for beginners include Angry Birds, Sonic and Field Goal, where you aim the ball through the uprights. The Bunker arcade has more than 50 games including VR, and Topgolf Putt Putt, an outdoor putting course in The Garden, runs from 5.30pm at AED 20 per person. The Topgolf Academy offers junior one-to-one lessons and a Junior Group Programme of weekly lessons, with sessions Friday to Sunday. There are also birthday packages for children up to 12 and teens up to 19, and a Family Day Pass on Monday to Thursday before 5pm and Friday to Sunday until 1pm. Topgolf turns the driving range into a game. Players take turns hitting balls from a covered bay towards big targets on an outfield, and because each ball carries a microchip, the screen in the bay scores every shot automatically. Children do not need to know the rules of golf: they swing, aim and wait their turn, and the screen does the counting. Games range from simple target scoring to themed games built around characters children already know. It is a relaxed first taste of golf that builds hand-eye coordination, balance and a basic swing, and children who catch the bug can move on to proper lessons with a golf coach.
Who it's for
Families with children of any age: the venue says it welcomes all ages and abilities, and children's clubs are available on request at the bay. Under 16s must be supervised by an adult at all times, and under 18s from 9pm onwards. The FAQ answer and the venue info page ask for a supervising adult aged 18 or over, while the code of conduct on the same FAQ page says 21 or over, so ask before you go if your group's adult is under 21. The Junior Group Programme is for juniors who have never picked up a club or have had a few lessons; junior lesson ages are not published, so ask the provider. Birthday packages cover children up to 12 and teens up to 19. The venue is wheelchair and pram accessible, with lifts to all floors.
What to expect
On a first visit each player buys a Topgolf membership for AED 20, a one-off lifetime fee that lets the bay screen track scores by name. You then rent a bay for at least an hour, for one to six players, with unlimited balls and clubs included; ask the Bay Host for children's clubs. Pick a game on the screen and take turns: only the player hitting stands beyond the red line. Walk-ins are welcome, though there can be waits at peak times and in the evening; booking online costs a priority booking fee, charged in addition to game time. Outside food is not allowed, apart from a shop-bought birthday cake. Dress respectfully, in line with UAE standards.
