About Tigers Park

Tigers Park in Al Sufouh 1 is the home ground of Dubai Tigers RFC, a rugby and netball club whose crest says it was established in 2013 and which says it has more than 800 members. Mini Rugby is tag rugby for Under 4s to Under 8s on Saturday mornings, with a coach for each age group. Youth Rugby runs from Under 9 to Under 18 and is where players move from tag to contact. Girls have their own Quick Rip tag teams from Under 10 and contact teams from Under 14. From Under 6, teams play in local leagues and tournaments through the season. Netball runs from Year 1 to Year 13. The online shop lists the 2026-27 membership fees by age grade, and a first trial session is free. It suits families who want a proper club for a child of three or older, with weekday evening and Saturday morning training in one place.

The activity

Rugby, explained

Rugby for young children usually starts as tag rugby: no tackling, and each player wears a tag belt that defenders pull off instead. Sessions are built around games, so kids learn to run with the ball, pass backwards, dodge and work as a team long before any contact. As players get older, clubs bring in contact rugby step by step, with tackling, rucks and scrums taught under a coach's eye. Rugby builds speed, balance, confidence and a strong sense of team, and it welcomes all body types. In Dubai, clubs group children by age grade from the September school year, and the youngest groups often start at three or four.

Who it's for

Boys and girls from Under 4 to Under 18. Mini Rugby (tag) covers Under 4 to Under 8, all mixed; Under 4 means born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023. Youth Rugby covers Under 9 to Under 18: mixed groups up to Under 13, then boys' teams, with girls' Quick Rip tag teams (Under 10, 12 and 14) and girls' contact teams (Under 14, 16 and 18). Netball is for Year 1 to Year 13, and the membership list also has FS2 Tots. Newcomers and experienced players are welcome. Special needs support is not mentioned: ask the club.

What to expect

Start with the free trial session: choose your child's age grade in the club's online shop and request a trial date. Mini Rugby is non-contact tag rugby on Saturday mornings at Tigers Park; the Under 4s train for 40 minutes (7:30AM-8:10AM) and Under 5 to Under 8 for an hour (7:30AM-8:30AM). Each age group has its own coaches. Youth players train on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings, and make the move from tag to contact rugby. The website doesn't give a kit list, so ask the club what your child should wear and bring.
