T&T Sports runs two floodlit tennis courts at West Beach, at the end of the Palm West Beach Promenade on Palm Jumeirah, and describes itself as the only publicly accessible tennis on the Palm. It is open to Palm residents, hotel guests and visitors, whether you want to book a court or sign up for coaching. For children, the club teaches from age 4 in small groups organised by ball colour: Red Ball for ages 4-5, Orange Ball for 6-8, Green Ball for 9-12 and Yellow Ball for 13 and up. Tennis, explained

Junior tennis today is taught in stages, with balls that match a child's size. Little ones start with red balls, which are softer, bounce lower and travel more slowly, so a four- or five-year-old has time to get set and swing. Children then move up through orange and green balls, each a little faster and bouncier, before reaching the standard yellow ball used in adult matches. Along the way kids build hand-eye coordination, footwork, balance and the patience to rally, and group lessons add turn-taking and a bit of friendly competition. At T&T, beginners can start from age 4 in the Red Ball group, and the ball colour sets the pace as they grow.
