The activity

Music Lessons, explained

Symphony Sargam teaches both Indian and Western music and dance, so children can learn Hindustani classical singing, light vocal music (Sugam Sangeet), or Western vocals, piano, keyboard, guitar and ukulele, alongside Kathak or Odissi classical Indian dance. Indian classical training builds voice control, raag and rhythm (taal) over years of practice, while Western instrument lessons follow a grade-by-grade path, here towards Trinity College London and Rockschool exams. Kathak and Odissi use footwork, hand gestures (mudras) and storytelling through movement, building flexibility, expression and discipline. Lessons run one-to-one or in groups, in person or online, and the school says it teaches students of all ages.

Who it's for

The school says it teaches students of all ages, with one-to-one and group classes, in person or online, across Hindustani classical, Sugam Sangeet, Western vocals and instruments, and Kathak/Odissi dance. No specific starting age is published - ask the provider.

What to expect

A free trial class is offered for every course and is booked on WhatsApp (+971 58 552 7426). The Western music courses include free PDFs, backing tracks and guidance on stage performance, with preparation for Trinity College London and Rockschool graded exams; Sugam Sangeet has certified examinations to track progress. The website doesn't describe what the trial session covers or what to bring - ask the provider.
