Football, explained

Football for children is usually played in small-sided games on a smaller pitch, so every child gets lots of touches of the ball. A typical academy session starts with a warm-up, moves on to drills for dribbling, passing, shooting and control, and ends with a short match. Children learn to play in a team, listen to a coach, win and lose well, and they get plenty of running, balance and coordination along the way. Most academies group children by age and level, and many run weekly training alongside friendly matches or tournaments. Starting ages differ from academy to academy, so check the youngest group before you book a first session.

Who it's for

Boys aged 4 to 18 and girls aged 4 to 14, according to the club's academy posts (September 2026). Training is split into two groups: ages 4 to 13 and ages 14 to 18. One free trial is available for all ages. The posts do not say how groups are split by level or whether there is support for children with special needs, so ask the club. Teams and groups can also hire a pitch.

What to expect

Start with the free trial: the club's posts say one free trial is available for all ages, and academy bookings go through +971 55 668 6999. Training runs on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The 4 to 13 group trains from 5:30 to 6:45 PM, so a session is about 75 minutes, and the 14 to 18 group follows from 6:45 to 8:00 PM. The club describes professional training with dedicated coaches, with matches and tournaments. What to wear (boots or trainers, shin pads), the regular fee and where parents wait are not in the posts, so ask when you book. The ground is behind Stadium Metro Station in Al Qusais and has a cafeteria.
