Star Rhythmic Gymnastic Club runs rhythmic gymnastics exclusively for girls aged 4 to 18, with beginner, intermediate and advanced levels plus a Selection group. For 2026-2027 its pricing page names four venues: GEMS Al Khaleej International School, RIT University, GEMS Wellington Academy and Ash Mount School, and the timetable runs weekday evening classes plus weekend mornings at RIT University in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The club's founder, Anees Makrous, leads the coaching team, which the club describes as "highly qualified professionals with years of international experience in rhythmic gymnastics". Gymnasts get assessments for strength, flexibility and balance and coach feedback through the club's app; advanced groups take part in local and international competitions. Packages run for 4, 20 or 40 weeks, the club trains 12 months of the year including Ramadan, and new families can book a free tryout online.

The activity

Gymnastics, explained

Rhythmic gymnastics mixes gymnastics, ballet-style movement and dance with hand apparatus such as the ribbon, hoop, ball, clubs and rope, all performed to music. Young beginners start with floor work, stretching, balance and basic apparatus handling, then gradually learn short routines. As they progress, gymnasts build flexibility, strength, coordination and musicality, and keener girls can move on to gradings and competitions. Classes are usually grouped by age and level, so a complete beginner is not thrown in with experienced gymnasts. Many clubs take children from about age 4, which is also this club's starting age.

Who it's for

Girls only, aged 4 to 18. The published timetable groups them as 4-7 years, 8-15 years and a Selection group, with beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

What to expect

Start with a free tryout, booked through the club's online form: you meet the coach, see how training works and find the right group level for your daughter. Group classes last an hour for the 4-7 and 8-15 age groups, while Selection sessions run for two hours. What to wear to the first session isn't published - ask the provider.
