The activity
Dance, explained
Dance classes help children build coordination, rhythm, balance and confidence through structured movement to music. A typical class starts with a warm-up, moves on to steps and technique, and finishes by putting the steps together into a short routine. Beginners learn to count music, copy movements and remember sequences, which also trains focus and memory. Group classes add teamwork and the fun of performing together. Starting ages, styles and class sizes vary from studio to studio, so it is worth asking which group suits your child's age and experience before the first class.
