About Prep Me Learning Centre

PrepMe Learning Centre is a KHDA-approved learning centre on the first floor of Centro Alandalus in Jumeirah Golf Estates. Music is a big part of what it does: lessons in piano, guitar, drums, keyboard, ukulele, recorder, violin and singing, which the centre says are tailored to each learner's pace with one-on-one attention. Piano, guitar, violin and singing start from age 4; keyboard, recorder and ukulele from age 5. Instruments are provided in class for beginners, so your child can start before you buy one, and piano and guitar lessons run on weekdays and weekends. Alongside music, PrepMe teaches maths, science and robotics from FS2 to Year 13, plus languages for children and adults, and runs PrepMe First Steps, a music, movement and sensory programme for babies and toddlers up to age 4. Group dance and arts and crafts classes for ages 4 and up are announced as coming soon. Trial sessions are offered, and the centre is rated 5.0 on Google from 30 reviews.

The activity

Music Lessons, explained

Music lessons give a child a regular slot to learn an instrument or their voice step by step: rhythm, pitch, reading notes and technique, then real songs. Piano and keyboard are common first choices because they make notes and harmony easy to see; guitar, ukulele, recorder and violin train finger coordination; singing builds breathing, posture and confidence. Beyond the music itself, lessons build focus, patience and the habit of steady practice. Many children start somewhere between 4 and 6, depending on the instrument and how ready they are. Practice at home between lessons makes a big difference, so it helps to have an instrument in the house once your child is hooked.

Who it's for

Children from age 4: piano, guitar, violin and singing lessons are for ages 4 and above, and keyboard, recorder and ukulele for ages 5 and up; drum lessons are open to all ages. Complete beginners and children who already know the basics are both welcome, and teens and adults can take music lessons too. Academic classes cover FS2 to Year 13, and PrepMe First Steps is for babies and toddlers in two brackets: up to 2 years, and 2 to 4 years.

What to expect

Start with a trial session: the centre's music FAQ says trials are offered so your child can explore their interest before committing, and there is a "Book a Trial" button on the homepage. Lessons are tailored to your child's level and pace, with one-on-one attention, and build rhythm, pitch, reading music and technique. You don't need an instrument at home to begin: pianos or keyboards, guitars and violins are provided in lessons, and recorders and ukuleles may be available for beginners. The centre does suggest getting an instrument for home practice and says its team can recommend budget-friendly options. For exact time slots, lesson length and prices, ask the provider.
