About Nolet Squash Academy

Nolet Squash Academy is a Dubai squash academy that launched in April 2024 and coaches players of all ages and levels, from beginners to juniors with competitive ambitions and adults playing for fitness. It trains at hotel and campus courts around Dubai, including Palm Jumeirah, Media City and Dubai Silicon Oasis; the academy's site also names Dubai Downtown, so ask which venue your child's sessions are at. It was founded by Mohammad Munther, who the academy says was ranked No. 1 in Jordan, reached World No. 5 in the U19 juniors and went on to play on the PSA World Tour. The academy says its coaches are World Squash Federation certified. Training comes in three forms: one-on-one private sessions, semi-private sessions for two players per coach (the site suggests siblings or friends at a similar level), and group training, plus a weekly Saturday gameplay session where a coach watches matches and gives tips. Prices for private and semi-private packages and the trial class are published on the academy's website.

The activity

Squash, explained

Squash is a fast racket sport played by two players in a four-walled indoor court. Players take turns hitting a small rubber ball against the front wall, and the ball can bounce off the side and back walls too, so every rally is a mix of running, stopping, turning and quick thinking. For children it builds speed, footwork, hand-eye coordination and stamina, and because it is played indoors it suits Dubai's hot months. Beginners start with simple drills: holding the racket, hitting to the front wall and moving back to the middle of the court. Many clubs use softer, bouncier balls for young starters. Ask the provider what age they take children from.

Who it's for

Players of all ages, skill levels and backgrounds, according to the academy: beginners, juniors aiming to compete, and adults. The site mentions training programmes for kids but does not publish age bands; ask the provider for the youngest age they coach. Semi-private sessions are pitched at siblings, friends or players at a similar level.

What to expect

The easiest way in is the trial class. The academy says the coach assesses your child's level, introduces the game and runs fun, engaging drills, so you can find the programme that fits. After that, families choose between 45-minute private sessions with one coach, 60-minute semi-private sessions with two players per coach, or group training. On Saturdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM there is a gameplay session where players play friendly matches while a coach watches from outside the court and gives feedback; ask which venue hosts it. The site does not list kit requirements, so ask the provider what to bring, including whether rackets and eye protection are provided.
