About MotoZone Dubai

MotoZone is an off-road motorbike centre at Skyhub RC Club in Al Lisaili, on the desert side of Dubai. Most of its work is adult tours, storage and a workshop, but it also runs a dedicated Kids Motorbike Training programme. Children are matched to a KTM bike by height rather than age: a 50cc for riders from 115 cm, a 65cc from 130 cm and an 85cc from 145 cm. The kids' range runs to 168 cm, though the kids' bikes listed in booking go up to 160 cm. Each session is one-to-one with an instructor in a controlled off-road area, and you can book 1 or 2 hours. Helmets, protective gear, the bike and water are included, so your child just needs comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Siblings and friends can book together, and there are multi-session packages and gift cards. If your child already has a bike, you can hire a MotoZone coach instead. Prices aren't published on the website, so ask MotoZone.

The activity

Motocross, explained

Off-road motorbike riding (motocross-style) teaches children to control a small dirt bike on sand and packed tracks: balancing, using the throttle and brakes smoothly, looking ahead, standing on the pegs and picking a line over bumps. Children ride bikes sized to their height, in a helmet, gloves and protective riding gear, with a coach close by. It builds balance, coordination, focus, quick decision-making and a healthy respect for safety rules, and confident riders can move on to longer sessions, trail riding or racing. Many children start on 50cc bikes once they can sit comfortably and reach the controls; schools usually set a minimum height rather than an age.

Who it's for

Children from 115 cm to 168 cm tall (the kids' bikes listed in booking go up to 160 cm; taller riders should ask MotoZone which bike and rate apply), from first-time riders to children sharpening their skills. MotoZone chooses the bike by height, not age: a child tall enough for an adult bike pays the adult rate even if under 15. If your child has a smaller build, MotoZone asks you to contact them first so they can provide the right bike. Children who already own a motorbike can book a coach on their own bike.

What to expect

Arrive for a 30-minute check-in and gear-up before the riding starts; if you are late, the session still ends at the booked time. Your child gets a height-matched KTM bike, full safety gear and one-to-one coaching in a controlled off-road area, for 1 or 2 hours. Bring comfortable riding clothes, closed-toe shoes and an ID or passport. Pick a bike size that suits your child's height when booking, because a session cancelled for the wrong bike size is not refunded. There is no published free trial; the 1-hour session is billed as an introduction to riding. Sessions must be booked in advance, and package sessions at least 2 weeks ahead.
