The activity

Music Lessons, explained

One-on-one music lessons pair a child with a dedicated teacher on their chosen instrument or voice, working step by step from posture and basic rhythm through to reading music and performing pieces. Regular weekly lessons build muscle memory and ear training gradually, and most schools track progress against a graded exam syllabus so kids and parents can see how far they've come. Piano and singing are common starting points from around age 4-6, with guitar and drums usually suiting slightly older beginners who have the hand size or coordination for the instrument.

Who it's for

Piano from 4 years old, on a shorter keyboard with simpler notes; drums from 5, as the school's teachers suggest; group art sessions for children from 4 up to teens, beginner to intermediate level. Instrument lessons run from beginner to advanced. No starting age is published for guitar or singing - ask the provider.

What to expect

Start with a free trial lesson, booked through the form on the contact page or by emailing [email protected]. If you're unsure of your child's level, the school offers a placement test. Instrument lessons are one-on-one with the school's instructors; art is taught in group sessions, and art materials are not included, so bring your own supplies or ask the school what to buy. The school's own FAQ suggests 30 minutes as an ideal lesson length, adjusted to your time and budget. It does not publish prices, so ask the provider.
