La Dance — Ballroom & Latin Dance Academy
About La Dance
La Dance is a ballroom and Latin dance school on the 2nd floor of MVP Lab Concept Sport in Al Quoz, teaching adults and children. The school lists three head instructors on its website, Maksim Zherdev, Alika Porokhnyavaya and Daria Bronnikova, and says Daria teaches Standard and Latin for adults and children in private and group classes. Its website is in English and Russian. Age bands, fees and a class timetable are not published, so message the school on WhatsApp (+971 58 512 0731) to ask which group suits your child. La Dance is rated 5.0 on Google from 13 reviews.
The activity
Dance, explained
Ballroom and Latin dance are partner dances with set steps and rhythms. The Latin group includes cha-cha, samba, rumba, paso doble and jive; the Standard (ballroom) group includes waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, foxtrot and quickstep. Children learn basic steps, timing to music, posture and how to hold a frame, then link steps into short routines, and some go on to compete. It builds coordination, rhythm, balance and confidence, and suits children who like structured, technique-based movement. Starting ages vary from school to school, so check with the provider.
Who it's for
