What age can children start at Huespace?

There is no lower age limit. Children aged 3 and under can do the Sprinkle (splashing onto a wall canvas) and Spill (pour painting on a figure) activities only, and the studio recommends these two for under-6s. From 6, children can do every activity. Children aged 7 and under need one adult with them.

How much does it cost?

Prices are per activity and listed in the site's booking system, with 5% VAT added on top: Sprinkle Solo AED 159, Pendulate Solo AED 179, Twirl Solo AED 189, Luminous (glow) Sprinkle AED 225, a painted mini T-shirt or tote bag AED 159, and Fusion with 2 canvases AED 329, each plus 5% VAT. Spill figures start at AED 50 for a keychain and AED 159 for a Petite Bear, with most character figures at AED 229, also plus VAT. Confirm the total when you book.

Do I need to book, and when is it open?

Walk-ins are accepted, but booking is preferred, especially at weekends. The studio is open every day from 10AM to 10PM, and last entry is one hour before closing.

Do I pay if I'm only there to supervise my child?

No. Charges apply only to people doing the activity.

How much is a birthday party?

Huespace does not publish party prices: they vary by package and add-ons, so ask the provider on WhatsApp. A party lasts 2 hours in total (90 minutes of activity and 30 minutes of celebration). The space holds about 60-80 guests, and it is private for groups of 40 or more or with a minimum spend of 7,000 AED.

Will my child's clothes get ruined?

Protective covers are provided, but the studio advises wearing clothes you don't mind getting paint on, in case some gets through.

Huespace is an art studio in Goshi Warehouse City, Al Quoz 3, where the point is to make a mess rather than a perfect picture. Guests throw and splash paint onto canvases on the wall (Sprinkle), pour acrylic over plastic and ceramic character figures such as bears, rabbits, Stitch and Hello Kitty (Spill), spin canvases on automatic or hand-turned tables (Pendulate and Twirl), paint T-shirts and tote bags, or do Sprinkle, the spin tables or fabric painting under UV light with neon paint. The studio says it is for kids, teens, adults, families and companies, and it is open every day from 10AM to 10PM with walk-ins accepted. Each visit is a single session you book and pay for per activity; there is no published class timetable. The site lists a price for every activity, with 5% VAT added on top. Huespace also runs children's birthday parties with paint fights and a group canvas, plus school trips and team events. Painting, explained

Splash and pour painting is messy, free art with no drawing skill needed. Instead of copying a picture, children throw, drip and flick paint at a canvas, pour colour over a figure and watch it run, or spin a canvas so the paint flies outwards into patterns. Every piece turns out different, so there is no right or wrong result. It is a very sensory activity: big arm movements, bright colour and the fun of making a mess somewhere other than home. It suits children who find sitting still at an easel hard, and even toddlers can join in with simple splashing and pouring, with a grown-up alongside them.

Who it's for

All ages, according to the studio: kids, teenagers and adults. Children aged 3 and under can do only the Sprinkle (canvas on the wall) and Spill (pour painting) activities. The birthday FAQ says ages 6 and up can do all activities and Sprinkle and Spill are recommended for under-6s. Children aged 7 and under need one adult with them during the activity.
