What age can children start climbing at GoClimb?

From 7. Under-7s are not permitted to climb. Juniors is for ages 7-11 and Teens for ages 12-16.

When are the kids' classes and how much do they cost?

Juniors and Teens run on Sundays, 60 minutes a session, over a 10-week term. The website shows a waitlist for both and does not publish the term fee or start date: ask the provider.

Can my child climb without joining a class?

Yes. Ages 7-11 can climb in normal hours with an accompanying adult actively supervising (no more than two children per adult). Ages 12-17 can climb on their own once a parent or guardian has signed the waiver.

A Day Pass is AED 100 for a full day, with no booking needed. Climbing shoes and chalk are included on the first visit, then AED 20 a day to rent. The AED 150 Starter Pack (14 days plus an intro coaching session) is for first-time visitors; the intro session is for ages 12+.

What should my child wear?

Stretchy clothes such as leggings, joggers or shorts, with no rings or jewellery and nails trimmed short. Bring a water bottle.

Does GoClimb do birthday parties?

It takes group bookings but does not sell fixed birthday packages; you are welcome to bring a cake. Message the gym on WhatsApp to plan one.

GoClimb is a dedicated bouldering gym on the first floor of Junction Mall in Dubai Investment Park 1, opposite Green Community. There are no ropes: the 4.5m walls cover slab, vertical, overhang and a spray wall, with more than 100 problems over thick padded mats and 15+ new routes set every week. For children there are two term programmes: Juniors for ages 7-11 and Teens for ages 12-16, each a 60-minute Sunday session over a 10-week term. Both currently show a waitlist sign-up on the website. Outside classes, 7-11s can climb in normal hours with an adult supervising, and 12+ can climb on their own once a parent has signed the waiver. The team includes head setter Irwan, a former national athlete and national youth team coach, and instructor Arifa, a climbing instructor and physiotherapist. The gym also hosts its own bouldering competitions and community events through the year.

Rock Climbing, explained

Bouldering is rock climbing without ropes or harnesses, on short walls above thick padded mats. Each route, called a 'problem', is a short puzzle of coloured holds that a climber works out move by move, so it suits children who like to figure things out as much as those who like to move. It builds grip and core strength, balance, body awareness and the patience to try again after a fall. Learning to fall safely is one of the first things taught. Many gyms welcome children from around seven with an adult or in a kids' class, and children can progress to teen squads and competitions.

Who it's for

Children from 7. Juniors (ages 7-11) and Teens (ages 12-16) are term programmes for young climbers. Outside a GoClimb kids' programme, 7-11s must be actively supervised by an accompanying adult (18+), with no more than two children per adult. 12-17s may climb on their own once a parent or guardian has signed the waiver.
